Das Buch erschien als Kooperationsprojekt des Frauensenats und der bezirklichen Frauen- und Gleichstellungsbeauftragten Berlins bereits im Jahr 2010. Konzipiert von Dr. Gabriele Kämper, mit Fotografien von Kerstin Grune und fantasievoll designed von Kerstin Bigalke ist es weiterhin hochaktuell.

A unique layout, expressive images and photographs, and related stories and anecdotes - the book "Pearls on the River Spree. Berlin: City of Women" ("Spreeperlen" in German) provides a deep and individual insight into the lives of a wide variety of Berlin women.



Reading "Pearls on the River Spree" makes their historic struggle for equality, participation and presence tangible and accessible. The book preserves and commemorates the past, the forgotten, as well as the present, the sad and the happy, but also the curious in the historical and female city of Berlin.

In its sections advances, adventures, emotions, atmospheres, travails, tribulations und oases "Spreeperlen" offers exciting and imaginative journeys of discovery through Berlin.

The book "Spreeperlen" was published in 2010 as a joint project by the Berlin Women´s Senate and Berlin´s District Women´s and Equal Opportunities Officers. Conceived by Dr Gabriele Kämper, photography Kerstin Grune and imaginatively designed by Kerstin Bigalke, it still remains highly topical.
